Postdoctoral Position

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, invites applications for a

Postdoctoral Position in Mathematics

starting on October 1, 2018, or at the earliest convenience. The position is awarded for 1+1 years.

The position comes with a light teaching load. Some level of fluency of German or French after a period of adaptation is desirable.

Ph.D. Position

The Probability group of the Department of Mathematics invites applications for one

Ph.D. Position

under the supervision of Prof. Ioan Manolescu. Candidates must have a strong background in probability; knowledge of statistical mechanics is welcome. Knowledge of French or German is desirable.

Duties include a moderate teaching load (exercise sessions) and occasional library service. We offer a friendly working environment, integration into the Swiss Doctoral Program of Mathematics, and an attractive salary.

Starting date: 1st of September 2018 (flexible).
